GENERAL MEETING: Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 10 am
General Meetings are a time to welcome visitors, hear guest speakers and discuss club business. We invite women who are new or established residents of Greater Winston-Salem to visit us.
General Meetings are held at 10 am on the fourth Tuesday of each month* at: Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1416 Bolton Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, just off Silas Creek Parkway, via the Bolton Street exit.
Presenter: Rosemary Niles, RN, BSN re: Hospice & Palliative CareCenter
Rosemary Niles, RN, BSN, has over 40 years of experience in nursing. She joined Hospice & Palliative CareCenter in 2007. She is a certified facilitator for Respecting Choices as well as Powerful Tools for Caregivers. Certification as a Faith Community Nurse ties in well with her current role as Regional Faith Community Liaison. She speaks to church and community groups about the Medicare Hospice benefit and the scope of services offered, including home care, grief counseling, and assistance with getting advance healthcare documents in place.
Hospice & Palliative CareCenter is the first hospice in the state of North Carolina. Since 1979, Hospice Care has been the cornerstone of their care. Over the years, they have introduced new and expanded programs. These programs include grief counseling and advance care planning — both free of charge — for anyone in the community. They have also expanded palliative care services designed to meet the needs of patients earlier in the disease process. They reached an important milestone in 1998 when they opened the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home so that they could provide around-the-clock care to their patients and families in need of short-term inpatient or respite care.
The Hospice & Palliative CareCenter staff is made up of specially trained professionals who work as a team to help patients and their families live fully and comfortably, with hope — even during life’s most challenging time.
