Speaker: Kathleen Faith Gregory Hutton, Director of Education,
Reynolda House Museum of American Art
Reynolda
House, built in 1917 as the home of tobacco magnate RJ Reynolds and his family,
houses one of the best collections of American Art in the country. Ms. Hutton
has been with Reynolda House since 1990 and is responsible for the development,
implementation, and evaluation of the museum’s interpretive programs. She coordinates K-12 school tours, motor coach tours, and
various adult tours, and works with teacher workshops, children’s
programs, and community outreach. She conducts training session for docents who can serve in various volunteer
positions at Reynolda House. Most
recently, she has been helping to develop and launch an Electronic Catalog
which will be an outstanding resource and guide to the treasures
in the House.
Ms. Hutton's educational credentials include a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Art History and Studio Art from the University of Virginia
and a Master’s of Fine Arts in Printmaking from James Madison University. She
also studied at the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington, DC.
Ms. Hutton will
discuss the many educational and community programs available through Reynolda
House.
