General Meetings are a time to welcome visitors, hear guest speakers and discuss club business. All residents of Greater Winston-Salem are invited to join us. General Meetings are held at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1416 Bolton Street (just off Silas Creek Parkway via the Bolton Street exit) at 10AM on the fourth Tuesday of each month, except August and December.

Meeting Bad Weather Policy: In the
event of bad weather, we follow the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School policy:
If school is on a two-hour delay, we will meet at the regular time; if school
is cancelled, then our meeting is cancelled.
Presenters: Hubert
and Marcia Barney, Clemmons NC, on “Ballroom Dancing”
Hubert and Marcia began to ballroom dance “much later than they
should have”; it took Marcia five years to convince Hubert to give it a try.
Once they took their first lesson 15 years ago, no further persuasion was
needed on her part. They have been ballroom dancers ever since and have been
teaching ballroom dancing for almost a decade. Dancing is a daily activity that
helps keep them fit physically, mentally, and emotionally.
They are active
in many community and dance organizations and are both past presidents and
board members of Piedmont NC USA Dance—a chapter of the national USA Dance
organization. A non-profit, volunteer organization, it is composed of ballroom
dancers who love to dance, and take delight in sharing the experience with
others interested in dancing. Membership in Piedmont USA Dance is open to
persons of all ages. Local USA Dance members range in age from 14 to 85. Their
dance experience covers an equally wide span. Some members are beginners;
others have been enjoying ballroom dancing for decades. The chapter meets on
the fourth Sunday of each month for a Ballroom Sunday dance at The Jerry Long
Family YMCA in Clemmons NC.
For our program, the Barneys will tell us a
little about ballroom dancing, give a short demonstration, and teach us a few
dance steps.
