Our speaker for November will be Joe Mills who wrote: “Opening a bottle of wine is an act of optimism!” In addition to authoring several books of poetry, he (along with his wife) has written A Guide to North Carolina’s Wineries. The Yadkin Valley, North Carolina’s first federally recognized American Viticultural Area, has more than 20 wineries and over 400 acres of vineyards. At our November meeting, Mr. Mills will share his insights into the history of wine growing in our region, the techniques used to produce a good vintage, and the variety of wines and activities available at the vineyards. He will also discuss possibilities for the holidays!
